Remote customer support jobs that are open worldwide exist, but they are rare. In the latest live check (22 October 2026), 6 of 1,361 live remote customer support listings were confirmed open worldwide. Most support jobs are limited to a country, a time zone or a language, because support teams serve customers in one market, in that market's language and hours. This guide shows who hires support staff across borders, which hours and languages they ask for, and how to find the listings you can get from where you live.
How many customer support remote jobs are open worldwide
Every remote listing ends the daily check in one of three states. Here is the split for customer support, next to all remote listings:
| State | Support listings | Share | All remote listings |
|---|---|---|---|
| Locked to a place, hours or a language | 1,281 | 94.1% | 92.1% |
| No lock found | 74 | 5.4% | 6.8% |
| Confirmed open worldwide | 6 | 0.4% | 1.1% |
Locked means the listing names a place, working hours or a language you must have. No lock found means nothing in the listing limits you, but it does not say the company hires worldwide either. Confirmed open worldwide means the listing says so in words. The methodology page shows how each state is decided.
Support listings were locked slightly more often than remote listings overall. For 36 listings among the locked ones, the location field said only "Remote" or nothing at all. The limit was elsewhere in the listing. The 74 listings with no lock found are worth a short message. Ask whether the company can hire in your country before you write a cover letter. One line is enough, for example "Can you hire someone who lives in the Philippines for this role?"
A salary was stated in 14.2% of support listings, compared with 14.5% of all remote listings. Of the 193 listings that stated pay, 102 named the USA.
What kind of support jobs companies post
Covesight groups support jobs by words in the job title. These were the most common in the latest check, and one title can match more than one line:
- Customer success: 478 listings
- Customer service: 270 listings
- Technical support or support engineer: 250 listings
- Customer support: 227 listings
- Support specialist: 219 listings
- Help desk: 8 listings
Most of these jobs are customer success or technical support roles. Customer success roles look after a company's existing customers, and technical support roles solve problems with the product. Of the 6 listings confirmed open worldwide, 4 had technical support or support engineer in the title and 2 had customer success. Only 1 support listing title mentioned chat. If you are looking for chat support remote jobs worldwide, search for these titles too.
Which places support jobs are limited to
In the latest check, 1,268 listings (93.2%) named at least one country or region. These were the places named most often. A listing that names two places counts once for each, so the column does not add up to the total.
| Place named in the listing | Support listings | Share of support listings |
|---|---|---|
| USA | 548 | 40.3% |
| Germany | 131 | 9.6% |
| Greece | 113 | 8.3% |
| Spain | 96 | 7.1% |
| Bulgaria | 95 | 7% |
| Philippines | 91 | 6.7% |
| Portugal | 78 | 5.7% |
| United Kingdom | 61 | 4.5% |
The USA was named in 548 listings (40.3%), more than any other place. Next came Germany (131) and Greece (113). Why so many remote jobs are US-only explains the payroll, tax and legal reasons behind the US share.
Which languages support jobs ask for
In the latest check, 233 listings (17.1%) required a language besides English. That is about 3 times the share for all remote listings, 5.5%. The languages asked for most:
| Language | Support listings | Place named most often with it |
|---|---|---|
| Spanish | 40 | USA (14) |
| French | 28 | France (21) |
| German | 28 | Germany (24) |
| Italian | 27 | Italy (27) |
| Danish | 19 | Denmark (19) |
| Dutch | 15 | Netherlands (15) |
Most of these listings also named a country or region, so the language usually comes with a location limit. If you speak one of these languages, it is an advantage. Check the location line as well before you apply.
Which hours support jobs ask for
Support teams work when their customers need help. In the latest check, 42 listings (3.1%) required working hours in a named time zone or a stated overlap, compared with 2% of all remote listings. Most of them also named a place, and 24 named the USA, so the hours came in addition to a location limit.
The US Bureau of Labor Statistics notes that customer service representatives often work during busy times, which may include evenings, weekends and holidays, and that some call centers are open 24 hours a day. For companies with customers in many countries, Zendesk's help center describes follow-the-sun support as operating in the time zones and languages of those customers.
So read the hours line as a shift. Convert the hours to your own time zone before you apply. For someone in the Philippines, US Eastern business hours fall at night. For someone in Latin America, the same hours fall mostly in the local working day. If a listing mentions follow-the-sun coverage, ask which region's hours you would cover. The glossary explains overlap and core hours.
Support jobs open to you, by country
These are the support listings open to someone living in each country in the latest check, split the way the country pages split them:
| Country | Names the country | Region label | Open worldwide | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Philippines | 91 | 28 | 6 | 125 |
| India | 15 | 31 | 6 | 52 |
| Pakistan | 12 | 32 | 6 | 50 |
| Mexico | 49 | 43 | 6 | 98 |
| Colombia | 45 | 39 | 6 | 90 |
| Brazil | 26 | 44 | 6 | 76 |
| Kenya | 0 | 32 | 6 | 38 |
| South Africa | 1 | 32 | 6 | 39 |
Of these countries, the Philippines had the most support listings open to it (125) and Kenya the fewest (38). The open-worldwide column is the same in every row, because those listings take applicants from any country. The region column counts labels such as APAC, EMEA or Americas. A region label is often a shortlist of the countries where the company can pay people, so ask whether yours is on it.
Who hires support staff worldwide
These support listings stated that the company hires in any country. Each one has a full page on the board:
- Technical Support Engineer, Tango
The list changes every day, because listings open and close.
How to find support jobs you can get
- Start on the customer support page. The customer support page brings together the live remote support listings, with each limit labeled. It counted 1,361 listings in the latest check.
- Check your country or region page. The Philippines page brings together the remote jobs open to someone there, support included. The Latin America page does the same for the region, and it counted 108 support listings in the latest check.
- Use the open-worldwide board. The open-worldwide board lists only listings that state worldwide hiring, in every kind of work.
- Read for the sentences that decide it. "Work from anywhere", "anywhere in the world" and "we hire worldwide" confirm worldwide hiring. "Must reside in", "authorized to work in", "fluent in" and a named time zone each limit the job.
- Ask who would employ you. An employee position through an employer of record and a contractor agreement differ in take-home pay, benefits and paperwork. Ask before the final interview, not at the offer stage.
