The best remote job sites in 2026 that are actually legit include We Work Remotely, Himalayas, Jobicy, Remotive, Working Nomads, Remote OK and FlexJobs, plus the big general boards. They are real businesses with real jobs. The harder question is whether you can take a job from where you live. Of the 40,000+ live remote listings in Covesight's daily check, under 1% were confirmed open worldwide. This guide compares 12 sites on how clearly each one shows where you can work from.
How we compared the sites
Every site is ranked on the same three questions, in this order:
- Does it show where you can work from? A label on each listing, a country or region filter, or a page per country.
- What does it cost a job seeker? Free to search and apply, free with paid extras, or paid before you can apply.
- Where do its listings come from? Paid posts from employers, listings gathered from other sites, or both, and what the site says it checks.
Covesight is the site you are reading, and we built it. It is not in the ranking. The last section says where it fits, and where the other sites do better. We did not pay for or sign up to the other sites for this guide. Each description uses only what the site's own pages said on 26 October 2026, linked.

1. We Work Remotely
Every posting has a regional tag, and its FAQ tells job seekers outside the US to look for "Anywhere in the World" or a region they can work from. Employers pay to post, and can limit a job to selected countries. A free Basic account lets you browse, save jobs and upload a resume. WWR Pro, at $14.95 a month with a 12-month commitment and a first month at $2.95, adds unlimited job applications, per the same FAQ.
2. Himalayas
Himalayas has a page of remote jobs per country, and its listings say who can apply, such as "United Kingdom only". Signing up is free, with no credit card. Its paid plans, Himalayas Plus at $9 a month and Max at $29 a month, are AI tools for resumes and coaching, not access to jobs.
3. Jobicy
Each listing starts with "Remote from" and the places it accepts, such as Canada or Anywhere, and there are region pages such as remote jobs in Canada. Jobicy says its tools are free for job seekers, that employers pay to promote, and that a person reviews every listing before it goes live.
4. Remotive
Remotive tags listings with the locations they accept and calls its jobs curated and fully remote. The free view shows only part of the list. A paid membership unlocks the rest, the location and salary filters, and jobs 24 hours early, and its help page says pricing depends on the plan and may vary by country.
5. Working Nomads
Working Nomads says it curates remote digital jobs from around the web, and that employers can limit a job to a region, so check each posting's geographic restrictions. It has region and country filters, such as remote jobs UK. Browsing and applying need no account. Premium costs $17.95 a month, $39.95 a quarter or $79.95 a year.
6. Remote OK
Remote OK filters by region and by country, with pages such as remote jobs in Canada. It also sells job posts to companies. Its paid plans for job seekers are $14.95 or $29.95 a month, with a 12-month commitment and no free trial.
7. FlexJobs
FlexJobs says it hand-screens every job and collects no fees from employers. It charges job seekers instead. Its FAQ says you need a paid subscription to see employers, view full job details or apply. The cheapest start is $2.95 for 14 days, which renews at $23.95 every 4 weeks; the 3-month plan is $29.85 up front and the annual plan $71.40, each with a 14-day money-back guarantee. Its categories include work from anywhere in the US and anywhere in the world, and it lists hybrid, part-time and flexible jobs as well as fully remote ones.
8. Remote.co
Remote.co shows the company and the location on each listing, such as "Remote, US National" or "Hybrid Remote in" a city, and its category pages also carried jobs marked "No Remote Work" when we checked. FlexJobs lists it as a partner site. Its pricing page could not be found on 26 October 2026, so we do not state a price.
9. Dynamite Jobs
Dynamite Jobs lists 100% work-from-home jobs from remote-first employers, and you can create a free profile. It has country pages, such as remote jobs in the United States, but the listings we saw were tagged "Remote Job" rather than with the countries that can apply, so read each one for where it hires.
10. Wellfound
Wellfound is a startup job site. It says creating a profile and applying is always free for candidates. Its job cards show "Remote" or a city, so the eligible countries are in each job's details.
11 and 12. Indeed and LinkedIn
The big general boards carry remote jobs next to hybrid and office jobs. Indeed's remote search shows listings as "Remote in United States", with a Remote and a Residency Requirement filter, and its security page says never pay upfront for a job. LinkedIn showed its job search only after sign-in when we checked. On both, open the company's own posting before you apply.
What a "remote" label leaves out
Most remote jobs are limited to a country or region. In Covesight's daily check of 40,000+ live remote listings (the latest on 28 October 2026), this is how many someone could apply to from each country, counting jobs that name the country, jobs limited to a region that includes it, and jobs open worldwide:
| You live in | Listings open to you | Share of all remote listings |
|---|---|---|
| US | 20,000+ | under 60% |
| UK | 3,000+ | under 10% |
| Canada | 3,000+ | under 10% |
| Australia | 900+ | under 3% |
When you find a job on any board, look for it on the company's own careers page and apply there. That is the most current version of the posting.
Which site to use, by where you live
- In the US. Most remote jobs accept you, so the general boards and the remote-only boards all work. Pick by field: Wellfound for startups, the remote-only boards for remote-first companies.
- In the UK, Ireland or Europe. Use a board that labels each listing, such as We Work Remotely, Himalayas or Jobicy, and skip anything tagged for the US only.
- In Canada or Australia. The same, plus the country pages on Himalayas, Jobicy and Remote OK. Many jobs open to "North America" or "APAC" include you.
- Open to hybrid or office work. Indeed, LinkedIn, FlexJobs and Remote.co carry those jobs too.
- Travelling or a nomad. Only jobs confirmed open worldwide fit, and they are few. The open worldwide page lists those Covesight found.
How to tell a legit listing from a fake
A legitimate site can still carry a fake listing. The FTC warns that scammers advertise jobs on legitimate job sites. Find the job on the company's own careers page, check that recruiters write from the company's domain, and never pay for training, equipment or a background check. Our guide on how to check a remote job is real walks through each step.
Where Covesight fits, and where other sites do better
Covesight is the site you are reading, and we built it, so we left it out of the ranking. It is a remote job board with one focus: showing which remote jobs you can take from where you live.
What Covesight does that the sites above do not:
- It reads the fine print of every listing, every day, for where the company can hire, working hours and language. Every listing gets a label: limited to a place, hours or language, no lock found, or confirmed open worldwide. On most of the boards above, the location is a tag on the listing or a filter.
- Each country has a page of the jobs open to someone living there, split into jobs that name the country, jobs open to its region and jobs open worldwide, such as the UK page or the Canada page.
- It reads companies' own hiring systems directly, plus a few public job board feeds. A listing the company takes down leaves Covesight at the next daily check.
- Companies do not post or pay to be listed.
Where other sites do better:
- Hybrid and office jobs. Covesight lists only jobs that say they are remote. Indeed, LinkedIn, FlexJobs and Remote.co also carry hybrid and on-site jobs, which helps if you would take a hybrid job near home.
- Jobs posted only on a board. Employers post straight onto We Work Remotely, Jobicy and others. A job that exists only on one board, and not in a company's hiring system, can be missing from Covesight.
- Screening by people. FlexJobs and Jobicy say a person reviews listings. Covesight does not screen listings by hand. It checks the text of each one.
- Free use. We Work Remotely, Himalayas, Jobicy, Working Nomads and Wellfound let you search for free. On Covesight, company names and apply links on most of the board come with a paid plan, and you can start with a 3-day free trial.
- Extra tools. Himalayas has AI tools for resumes and coaching, and We Work Remotely includes a resume check.
The methodology page explains how the daily check works. Covesight works well next to one or two of the boards above.
Prices and plans change. Each site's own pages, linked above, carry its current terms. We re-check this guide every month.
