<h1><strong>People Systems & Payroll Specialist</strong></h1> <h2><strong>About the role</strong></h2> <p>You own two things that keep the organisation running: our people systems (HRIS, reporting, data quality, integrations) and our payroll coordination across group entities , spanning Austria, Germany, Spain, Italy, the UK and Türkiye. The split is roughly 50/50 between systems and payroll.</p> <p>Payroll runs through Deel in all countries, in partnership with our internal accounting teams in each market; you prepare inputs, validate outputs, own the payroll calendar, and are the single point of accountability for it being right and on time. On the systems side, you are the group-wide owner of Deel as our HRIS and of our people data.</p> <p>You report directly to the Head of People Operations and work closely with HR Ops Managers in each market and with Finance.</p> <h2><strong>What you'll do</strong></h2> <h3><strong>People Systems (~40%)</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Own and administer Deel as our group HRIS: configuration, workflows, access, data quality</li> <li>Build and maintain people reporting — headcount, attrition, org data</li> <li>Manage integrations between Deel and other tools; own employee data flows end to end</li> <li>Drive the people-systems roadmap: evaluate tools, lead implementations and migrations, automate manual processes</li> <li>Act as internal consultant to HR Ops Managers on process design and system usage</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Payroll (~40%)</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Own the monthly payroll cycle for all group entities: collect and validate inputs (comp changes, absences, bonuses, joiners/leavers), process through Deel, review outputs before approval</li> <li>Work hand in hand with internal accounting teams in each country</li> <li>Own the payroll calendar and ensure statutory deadlines are met in every jurisdiction</li> <li>Reconcile payroll with Finance; support audits and year-end processes</li> <li>Continuously improve payroll processes, controls and documentation; reduce error rates and manual effort</li> </ul> <h3><strong>People Ops Support (~10%)</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Depending on your work location, there can be adhoc support required by the people operations team. The team works across countries and might need a helping hand in situations where physical presence is required. </li> </ul> <h2><strong>What you bring</strong></h2> <h3><strong>Must have</strong></h3> <ul> <li>2-4 years of experience across payroll and HR systems: you have ideally run or coordinated payroll hands-on, not only administered a tool</li> <li>Experience running multi-country payroll through a global payroll platform: Deel experience is a strong advantage</li> <li>Strong HRIS administration experience including reporting and workflow configuration: ideally on Deel</li> <li>High accuracy and process discipline: you catch the error before payroll runs, not after</li> <li>Advanced Excel / Google Sheets; comfortable with data cleaning and reconciliation</li> <li>Fluent English (working language); able to work autonomously across time zones and entities</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Nice to have</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Payroll certification (e.g. Personalverrechnerprüfung in AT, or equivalent in ES/DE)</li> <li>Spanish, German or Italian language skills</li> <li>Experience with HRIS/payroll system implementations or migrations</li> <li>Experience in a multi-entity or M&A environment</li> </ul>
