What a Europe lock means

A job limited to Europe hires anywhere in Europe, rather than in one named country. Most of Europe is between UTC+0 in Lisbon and London and UTC+2 in Athens and Helsinki, one hour later in summer, so a company hiring across it can keep one working day. Companies use "Europe" loosely: some mean the EU, some include the UK, some stop at the countries where they already employ people. Covesight records "EU" and "Europe" the same way, so read the listing if you are applying from the edge of the region.

In the latest daily check, 665 remote jobs are limited to Europe and 444 are open worldwide. That makes 1,109 on this page, or 2.8% of the 39,007 jobs checked.

Among the jobs limited to Europe, the biggest role groups are Engineering (252), Sales (90) and Operations (41). 57 of 665 (8.6%) ask for a language other than English, most often German (19) and Russian (12). 3 of 665 (0.5%) carry a time-zone requirement. 63 of 665 (9.5%) state a salary, most often in EUR (31).

Europe-wide jobs are only part of what you can take from a European country. The places named most often inside these listings are the United Kingdom (110), Germany (78) and Spain (71), and each European country page adds the jobs limited to that country. EMEA jobs are on the EMEA page.

For every job in Europe that asks for no language besides English, use the English-only Europe page. It covers Europe, EMEA and single-country jobs.

In the latest live check (14 October 2026), the 1,109 listings open to someone living anywhere in Europe came from 287 companies. Of the role groups, Product had the largest share of its listings limited to Europe: 38 of 1,182 (3.2%). 10 of the 1,109 had an entry-level job title, such as junior, intern or graduate.

Questions

Does "Europe" in a job listing include the UK?

It depends on the company. Covesight records "EU" and "Europe" the same way, so a job limited to Europe may still exclude the UK. Check the listing itself.

Why are there fewer Europe-wide jobs than jobs in my country?

Because most companies hire in the few countries where they can employ people, and they name those countries. There are 665 jobs limited to Europe in the latest check. Your country page lists these plus the jobs limited to your country.

Do Europe-wide jobs need a second language?

57 of 665 (8.6%) ask for a language other than English, most often German (19) and Russian (12).

How often is this list updated?

Every day. Covesight checks every listing again, drops the ones that have closed, and recounts. All numbers on this page come from the latest check, so they can differ from yesterday's.
