What an EMEA lock means

EMEA stands for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. A job limited to EMEA hires anywhere in that region, which runs from UTC+0 in London and Lisbon to UTC+4 in Dubai. If you live anywhere in Europe, the Middle East or Africa, an EMEA job is open to you.

In the latest daily check, 534 remote jobs are limited to EMEA and 444 are open worldwide. That makes 978 on this page, or 2.5% of the 39,007 jobs checked.

Among the jobs limited to EMEA, the biggest role groups are Engineering (195), Sales (91) and Customer Support (34). 32 of 534 (6.0%) ask for a language other than English, most often German (15) and French (6). 1 of 534 (0.2%) carries a time-zone requirement. EMEA spans about four hours from end to end. 46 of 534 (8.6%) state a salary, most often in USD (25).

Some EMEA listings also name a country, for example "EMEA, UK preferred". Covesight records every place a listing names, and the job page shows all of them. EMEA jobs also appear on each European country page. The places named most often inside these jobs are the United Kingdom (145), Germany (58) and Spain (41).

An EMEA label leaves two questions open: can the company employ or pay people in your country, and which hours does the team keep? A company may hire across EMEA only where it already has an entity, or only as contractors. The listing, or a short question before you apply, answers both.

This page does not include jobs limited to one European country. If you live in one, your country page lists those jobs plus everything here. For jobs that ask for no language besides English, use the English-only Europe page. It covers Europe, EMEA and single-country jobs.

In the latest live check (14 October 2026), the 978 listings open to someone living anywhere in EMEA came from 229 companies. Of the role groups, Customer Support had the largest share of its listings limited to EMEA: 34 of 1,416 (2.4%). 15 of the 978 had an entry-level job title, such as junior, intern or graduate.

Questions

Which countries are in EMEA?

EMEA covers Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Companies use it loosely, and a listing may exclude countries it cannot hire in, so read the listing if you live at the edge of the region.

Do EMEA jobs require a second language?

32 of 534 (6.0%) ask for a language other than English, most often German (15) and French (6).

How is EMEA different from Europe on Covesight?

Covesight keeps them apart. A listing that says EMEA is recorded as EMEA, and one that says Europe or EU is recorded as Europe. There are 534 EMEA jobs in the latest check. The Europe page lists the jobs limited to Europe. Both pages also list the jobs open worldwide.

How often is this list updated?

Every day. Covesight checks every listing again, drops the ones that have closed, and recounts. All numbers on this page come from the latest check, so they can differ from yesterday's.
