Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and continuously optimize Android-side camera, video, and image recognition related products; participate in building and iterating on-device capabilities.
- Handle Android ecosystem fragmentation and low-end device adaptation, optimizing performance, memory, and stability to ensure reliable operation across diverse devices.
- Design and implement on-device capture workflows, ensuring stability and compatibility.
- Build on-device environment detection and adaption capabilities.
- Collaborate with Product, Backend, Algorithm, and other teams to deliver the full on-device pipeline end-to-end.
- Participate in technical design reviews, code reviews, on-device engineering practices, and troubleshooting of critical issues.
Requirements:
- Strong Android engineering fundamentals, with deep expertise in Camera2 / CameraX image capture and processing, performance/memory optimization, and low-end device adaptation.
- Deep understanding of Android system-level mechanics, including Activity/Fragment lifecycle, Handler mechanism, JNI / NDK, multithreading concurrency, and memory management.
- On-device vision or algorithm engineering capability — able to transform raw algorithm/model output into stable, explainable business decisions.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to independently diagnose production issues, compatibility problems, performance bottlenecks, and complex interaction issues.
- Experience with camera capture, video streaming, image recognition, computer vision, or related projects is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with on-device vision technologies (object detection, feature point extraction, image quality assessment, model inference workflows, etc.) is a plus.
- Experience integrating or benchmarking against major image recognition services is highly preferred.
- Backend development experience is a plus (Java / Go / Python / Node.js), with understanding of API design, authentication, and server-side data flows.
- Good communication skills, ownership, and the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration to resolution.
Nice to have:
- Experience in finance, payments, or related domains.
- Experience with on-device AI / model deployment / inference optimization.
- Experience building camera / video / image recognition on-device capabilities.
